Our Mission
Georgetown University Pre-Medical Society caters to the interests and concerns of the pre-medical student community at Georgetown University, as well as those students interested in going into a medical field. We aim to unify pre-medical students in academic integrity and excellence, guide students through the pre-medical route, and provide a supportive atmosphere to our fellow Georgetown students.
Aside from academic events, we also provide peer support regarding academic and extracurricular pressures experienced by potential pre-medical students. Additional support from faculty members is a valuable resource for pre-medical students.
As an organization, we organize a variety of service-related activities, professor lectures, sponsor mock interviews, and arrange guest speakers who are in the field of medicine. We often host the directors of admissions at various medical schools, recent institutions including NYU Medical School and Dartmouth Medical School, who advise about the medical school application process. We work in conjunction with on- and off- campus organizations, like Georgetown's very own Career Education Center and Center for Social Justice, to schedule events centered around service and medical school preparation.
Lastly, as students ourselves, we understand the pressures that college students encounter. We are here to encourage pre-medical students at Georgetown University to succeed in their undergraduate endeavors.
